Editorial policy

Scope

The English edition gives general information about preparation and official routes in Japan. It does not give advice for an individual case. Rules, procedures, eligibility conditions, service languages, and contact details can change.

Sources and updates

The editorial desk gives priority to current primary sources from Japanese ministries, courts, public bodies, and the Japan Legal Support Center. Each guide shows a check date. We review an article when we confirm a material official change, broken source, or factual error.

Corrections

Use the editorial contact form to identify an error or a changed official source. Do not send a request for legal advice, a contract, an identity document, a case number, or another person’s information.

Advertising and links

At launch, the English edition has no advertising, affiliate links, or links to a controlled business. External links in the guides lead to sources that help the reader confirm official information. Any later external link must have a specific editorial purpose and direct reader value.
